He won't die for many many. The writer's will keep him alive even after everyone else dies of old age. By the time the writers decide to replace him with another antagonist Little Ethan will be old enough to give the eulogy.

I think that he will eventually die. I dont think that even the best screenwriters can figure a way out of being stabbed, poisoned and everything that happened to him in the mansion... although a lot of drama will be lost with Alistair's death... he wasn't always in the show as the prominent figure he is now. Theresa or Tabitha can take over as the trouble maker and drama stirrer. I don't know about everyone else, but Alistair is starting to get old, theres very little mystery anymore. Something bad happens and we all know who it is! Not very often that its someone else's doing. But now that he's out for the count, others are coming in like Theresa, Maya and Valerie.
