I've got 14 pages of math to do, and I'm on my 4th page...
1.) The Royal Opera House Orchestra in London, Englad, includes 13 musicians who play the viola. The musicians in the viola section make up 12 1/2% of the orchestra. How many musicians are in the Royal Opera House Orchestra?
2.) A bag contains 6 red marbles, 9 blue marbles, and 5 green marbles. You randomly select one marble from the bag. What is the probability that the marble is red? Write your answer as a percent.
Please don't just give me the answers without explaining them.

1. Use proportion.
13/100 = 12.5/x
x then = 104
2. There are 20 marbles total. 6 of them are reds. 6/20 = x/100
Solve it and you're get 30%

um i cant help w/ the 1st one but the second one is
u add all the marbles then put the red over all
6/20
then you multiply by 100 because to get 100%
u end up with 600/20
divide
30%
is ur answer

Your second question is actually easy.
Altogether there are 20 marbles, and there are 6 red marbles. Your probability is 6:20 or 6/20.
To make that a percent you just do 20 divided by 6.
Once you do that your answer is .3 and .3 in percentage form is 30%
Now for your first question. I'm not sure if you know what a proportion is, so let me explain. A proportion looks something like ?/?=?/?. All percentages are out of 100 (?/100). So for the percentage you would have 12.5/100. And there are 13 out of an unknown number of musicians.
Your setup will look like this: 12.5/100=13/x
You solve by multiplying 13 by 100 and then dividing by 12.5. I'm pretty sure you know how to multiply and divide, so I'll leave it up to you to solve it.
